sobriety guidance
If you’ve ever tried to quit and cut back on your drinking, only to find yourself in the same spot (or worse) a month or two later, you’re not alone. That’s because quitting drinking is about so much more than quitting drinking. It’s about learning emotional sobriety and self-awareness skills. It’s about learning to be with yourself without escape.
We live in a society that glorifies escape.
From the time we’re kids, we’re taught that adults gravitate toward alcohol to increase pleasure (celebrations) and to decrease pain (stress after a long day at work). We’re shown and taught that this is the ‘normal’ way to process our feelings. A normal way to make it through life.
That’s why, when you choose to make a change in your relationship with alcohol, but don’t address your underlying feelings, self worth, or the real reasons WHY you drink, you’ll often find yourself with glass in hand once again.
That merry-go-round of moderation stops now. You deserve a life that is full and present and to be someone you know you can count on.
who this is (generally) a good fit for:
My style and experience isn’t a fit for everyone, and over the past 6 years of working with people very closely, I’ve found that the process is most transformative for those who:
Are highly functional, which causes an inner dissonance because their drinking isn’t “that bad” to other people…but causes them shame and depleted self-trust.
Do not feel aligned with traditional recovery models (AA or rehab centres).
Have come to a place of acceptance that alcohol can no longer play a role in their life, even if that feels scary and they don’t know how to navigate all that comes with this transition.
Are ready to risk being uncomfortable - whether that’s the discomfort of not knowing, of taking risks, of being patient or making decisions that other people may not understand.
Are wanting to become more self-aware and open to life’s possibilities.

After decades of personal experience being a high-functioning grey-area drinker, I intimately understand the impact that alcohol can have on energy, confidence, self-esteem and how those can show up in the workplace.
My mission is to empower people-centred organizations to address grey-area drinking head on with compassion and understanding, and to provide a supportive environment for employees. I believe that by proactively addressing this often overlooked issue, companies can not only enhance employee well-being but also improve overall performance and morale.
Services

words from past clients

"She has changed my life by helping me accept the duality of my circumstances."
I was alive in September 2022, but I was not living - I was merely existing day to day as a high functioning mother, wife and accountant. I didn’t know who I was. I was drinking daily and knew something needed to change but also knew I couldn’t do it alone.
When I started working with Kristy, this is when my life really started changing and I finally began living. In her coaching, I was witnessed, supported and guided. I was able to release shame and guilt that I held onto for years…while being met with love and compassion.
I am no longer existing - I am growing and thriving. And it all started working with Kristy. She played an instrumental role in helping me save myself. I love myself and I’m excited for what lies ahead. I never imagined that I’d be able to say that and believe it.

"Working with Kristy has been one of the best decisions I'd made!"
Working with Kristy has been one of the BEST decisions I've made! Her warm and compassionate nature was just what I needed as I changed my relationship with alcohol. I loved the Voxer (voice messaging) support, reinforcing the healing work in our weekly sessions. Kristy is wise, intuitive, and non-judgemental, a trusted guide on the path to wholeness, self-love, and sobriety.
I highly recommend working with her.

"I feel like I grew a lot across this process, even more so than years of therapy and other coaching."
It was such an absolute pleasure working with Kristy. She has an incredibly calming presence and so much empathy. Going through this process, it was so helpful to have that demeanor. She was so patient and responsive to all of my questions and messages. I just felt like she was truly focused on me. I feel like I grew a lot across this process, even more so than years of therapy and other coaching. I have changed and taken better control of my life and understood how to put myself first. I took some big and scary steps with her support. And I've undoubtedly improved my relationships and taken accountability for my role in conflicts.”
