Soul-Healing Sobriety

A 7-week program designed for women who want to live free from alcohol, reduce shame and increase confidence. Delivered at The River Healing Centre in Orangeville, Ontario.

You’ve been quietly contemplating what a sober life might look like. What it might feel like. You’ve likely been deep in the throes of shame and wondering if there’s more to life…than this.

There is.

An intimate group experience for women looking to change their relationship with alcohol - and themselves.

This is about more than just not drinking:

  • Because you’ll also be learning how to soothe yourself in healthy ways when the cravings show up.

  • You’ll be testing out new boundaries with the most loving, benevolent support.

  • You’ll be gently trying new ways to BE with yourself instead of constantly trying to escape yourself. You’ve done that for so long, and you know it just doesn’t work for you anymore.

  • You’ll be given explicit permission to start trying the things you’ve always wanted to try but thought your dreams weren’t as important taking care of everyone else’s.

  • You’ll be guided to tap into your innate wisdom and knowing that’s always been there but has been drown out by alcohol + other people’s opinions.

Welcome to Soul-Healing Sobriety:

This is for you if:

  • You’re a newly sober or sober curious person, or someone looking to re-enter into sobriety.

  • You’ve participated in (or maybe even finished) a dry January or sober October but it was a slog and you found yourself with a drink in hand again on day 31.

  • You’re curious and wanting to explore a new relationship with alcohol. Not what you think it should look like. Not what other people think it should look like.

  • You know that there is a life beyond booze but can’t seem to stick to your Sunday morning promise of “ugh…I’m never drinking again.”

  • AA does not feel like the right choice for you but you’re having a hard time quitting on your own.

  • You’re sick of waking up with feelings of regret and shame around your drinking habits.

  • You’re feeling alone in your sober curious journey and are looking for connection with other people who want to live full, courageous lives.

What you’ll receive:

  • 7 in-person sessions, delivered at The River Healing Centre in Orangeville.

  • We’ll cover topics ranging from: shame, navigating triggers & managing cravings, emotional regulation, filling the space alcohol once occupied, reclaiming parts lost to drinking and (re)discovering your sober self.

  • Support and accountability from Kristy and your fellow group members who understand the challenges of this journey.

  • Resources and tools that you’ll learn to apply yourself, so you can become your own advocate and coach during challenging times.

✨Soul-Healing Sobriety is a compassionate and empowering voyage into the beginning stages of sobriety so you can continue your journey feeling strong and supported with newly gained tools, perspectives and connections - and takes you from I can’t drink anymore to I don’t have to drink anymore.

What to expect:

By Day 1: You’ll let go of the isolation you feel because you’ll be in the company of other tender, empathetic and brave humans who have a shared lived experience. Immediate relief.

By Week 2: You’ll uncover the unconscious thoughts that are keeping you drinking (these are going to surprise you, trust me).
You can’t change what you’re not aware of. This step is KEY.

By Week 4: You’ll be able to identify, understand and name your triggers. You’ll be able to recognize how they feel in your body AND - most importantly - learn what to do with them using quick, easy and impactful tools.

By Week 5: You’ll learn emotional techniques that help you stay with yourself in times of distress instead of reaching for a glass of wine.

BONUS:these techniques can be applied TO ANY difficult situation you encounter in life. Learning this alone is worth the cost of this program.

By Week 6: you’ll develop a solid foundation of self-knowledge so you no longer outsource your inner-knowing to other people (your mom, your friends, your spouse).

By Week 7: (and this is a FUN ONE!) you’ll have saved some cold hard cash that you would have otherwise peed down the drain and now you can spend it on things that actually align with your values.

***and there is so much more in between. These are just a few of the things we are going to accomplish together…all the while having a dream team of other humans cheering you on. People to laugh with. People to cry with. People who get you.***

  • "...it has completely changed my life"

I can't remember the sequence of events that lead me to Kristy's Instagram but the universe knew what it was doing. I had been sober curious for awhile and as soon as she posted about her group program, I just knew I wanted to try it out even though I was scared. BEST DECISION EVER! From the first minute of the first session Kristy did an amazing job making me feel comfortable, seen and valued. She gave me the tools I needed to make better decisions for myself while acknowledging mind, body and soul. If you are on the fence about joining this group session please know that it has completely changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined a year ago.

    - Lynn P.

  • "I was able to release guilt and shame I held onto for years..."

I was alive in September 2022, but I was not living - I was merely existing day to day as a high functioning mother, wife and accountant. I didn’t know who I was. I was drinking daily and knew something needed to change but also knew I couldn’t do it alone. Then the universe stepped in and my part led me to Kristy. I was able to join one of her small groups - this is when my life really started changing and I finally began living. In her group, I was witnessed, supported and guided. I was able to release shame and guilt that I held onto for years…while being met with love and compassion. I am no longer existing - I am growing and thriving. And it all started working with her - Kristy played an instrumental role in helping me save myself. I love myself and I’m excited for what lies ahead. I never imagined that i’d be able to say that and believe it. - Amy C.

  • "The only thing that has completely changed my relationship with alcohol and how I see myself has been working with Kristy."

Alcohol is a problem for me, but I didn’t fall into the typical definition of an addict. After I saw an addiction specialist, it felt like she didn’t know what to do with me: I didn’t have a DUI, I never put my children in harms way, it didn’t interfere with work. I felt like I had to be “worse” to get help.

Now I know that I was just so desperate for someone to help me feel seen and now drown in my own self-hatred and shame. I attended all the things, AA included. The only thing that has completely changed my relationship with alcohol and how I see myself has been working with Kristy.

    -Kristen C.

  • "Immediate comfort and support"

She was the first person I talked to about my decision to live sober…and her attentive approach provided immediate comfort and support. It is a true gift to be in the presence of someone who heartily hears me and taps into what I imagine for myself. Through her coaching, she helped me define a new path and lit the way for me.

    - Megan D.

  • "...incredibly safe space for people like me to unpack some of the shitty baggage we’ve been lugging around for so long."

I will be eternally grateful for the way she showed up and held incredibly safe space for people like me to unpack some of the shitty baggage we’ve been lugging around for so long. Thank you for seeing me, loving me, supporting me and encouraging me through some of the most difficult parts of this transformative journey. - Dana E.

  • "If you ever get the chance to work with Kristy, do it!"

If you ever get the chance to work with Kristy, do it! She has the most calming and understanding soul. With Kristy, you can celebrate your wins and be held through the tough times - she feels like a big, loving hug. Kristy made me feel safe when I needed a guide in some extremely difficult times. - Laura S.

 FAQs

  • This group is for those who are sober-curious (have a genuine interest in living a sober life), are newly sober or are wanting to re-enter into sobriety.

  • This group is for women, women-identifying and LGBTQ+ folks - it is a shared space where everyone's voice and experience matters. In order to keep everyone feeling welcome and comfortable, it's important to be thoughtful about the language you use and be respectful of others' lived experiences.

  • We will meet on Monday evenings April 20 - June 7th, 2026 from 7:00-8:30pm at The River Healing Centre at 5 Mill St. in Orangeville.

  • We are all in the same boat and acknowledge that attending is courageous, vulnerable and nothing to be ashamed of.

That being said, we are very respectful of each other’s privacy and agree to maintain care for our fellow group members by not disclosing who attends or what is discussed. We will go over this and other house-keeping items at the beginning of each meeting.

  • It can be scary trying something for the first time so first off, I’d like to commend you for stepping outside of your comfort zone. That’s a huge part of what sobriety is about - putting ourselves out there and trying something new. Coaching is different from sponsorship in that along with my own lived experience, I’ve also been trained specifically in recovery coaching. In coaching, I help you understand and get to the heart of the issue, challenge limiting and false beliefs, encourage new perspectives and hold space during what can be a tender and emotional journey. My specific style of coaching is based in the principle that deep down, people do truly know what’s best for them - but often they need support in uncovering and being honest about what those things are. I absolutely believe in my clients’ ability to grow and change beyond what they ever thought was possible for them and hold them in the highest and most loving regard.. Doing this work in a safe and contained group setting creates lasting bonds and dissipates the shame that has told you that “no one gets it” or that “I’m the only one.”

  • If you’re needing extra support outside of our allotted group time, you can book a single session. Learn more here.

  • I totally get it. I remember the first group program I enrolled in…I was worried - would I like it, would these people get me? How can I talk about things that are so personal with a bunch of strangers? Your fears are okay and make sense.

    AND

There’s so much healing that happens when we find out that we aren’t the only ones having these challenging experiences. When we hear our stories and experiences mirrored back to us. When we find out that we aren’t completely alone in our feelings and there are truly people out there who get us. This is the magic of a group coaching experience.

The other thing that we are so often missing while we’re drinking is true, genuine connection…which is very different from alcohol manufactured connection. Group coaching is where you not only realize you aren’t alone, but where you also develop genuine, lasting connection with other people who get it.

All of that said, if you still very much feel like you want to do this work, but a group doesn’t feel like the right environment for you in this season, we can also explore working privately, 1:1.

  • While Alcoholics Anonymous is the right choice for some, it doesn’t feel like the right choice for everyone. I have worked with many people who are actively involved in AA to further support and enhance their recovery journey and often work with those who feel opposed to some of the tenants of the 12 step program. I believe all forms of recovery are valid and encourage you to make the decision that feels most aligned for you.

  • Yes, there is a 3 month payment plan option. When signing up for a payment plan, you are committing to paying all 3 payments, in full and on time and keeping your credit card information up to date.
